July 29, 2015 Rock My Restaurant co-host Eric Norman and I are celebrating the launch of Rock My Restaurant – Pro with Foodable WebTV Network Executive Producer Paul Barron. Rock My Restaurant is about: Building, Designing, Equipping, Operations, Technology, Innovation and Brand Development from the ground up. We’ve been developing a New Format for RMR called Rock My Restaurant – Pro to provide Premium content to the entire restaurant industry. This is for people in the industry, people advancing in their careers or those just about ready to take the plunge and join us.
RMR-Pro features 6 in-depth episodes. Each episode includes interactive digital resources, workbooks, and reports with significant industry information.
We’ve had fun developing RMR-Pro and I have to thank to my co-host and friend Eric. He’s Vice President of MVP Services Group and a very talented Foodservice Designer. I believe he knows the exact specifications of any piece of foodservice equipment that has ever been invented and manufactured. As Foodservice Consultant Society International professional members we meet at regional and national conferences and FCSI functions as often as we can schedule. Of course with his lovely wife Kerrie and young son Gunther he is constantly on the go.
It’s a real honor working as a partner with Eric and he always delivers what he says he will and then goes the extra mile. Eric is the rare person with industry intelligence, technical know-how and always a keen eye with fresh creativity. It’s easy to see why Eric won the FCSI Young Lion Award in 2013. Eric it’s a pleasure to partner with you on Rock My Restaurant and all that we foresee as members of the Foodable Team. We also both appreciate the wisdom that Ed Norman, FCSI offers and we tap frequently for advice.
Foodservice Consultant Society International
Eric and I attended the 2015 FCSI Symposium in Anaheim, California in February that is held prior to the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM) Show. The theme for the Symposium was STOP, Collaborate & Listen. We would be recording two of our new format RMR-Pros at NAFEM and several RMR product reviews. We had prepared show script ideas but attending the Stop, Collaborate & Listen talk was also perfect timing for us to COLLABORATE Further and LISTEN to everyone we came in contact with during NAFEM week.
We both thought, what if RMR-Pro could become a digital resource for the RMR audience to gain more knowledge, and we could share FCSI level content for design and management? This idea was shared with Jeffrey and Paul and the Foodable Team Listened. It was accepted and we began the collaboration and development process.
This is just ONE Example of why Eric and I are proud to be members of FCSI. The level of restaurant and foodservice consulting is set high with our FCSI colleagues and members. Each member is professional, honors our code of ethics and shares as much as they know with fellow members.
A huge Thank You to one more friend Bill Main, FCSI that advises me and also shares an enormous amount of his content with me. Bill is known for his concept of Menu Optimization that increases restaurant profitability. I just refer to Bill as The Menu Guy. I owe Bill a lot and I appreciate how much time and experience he has shared with me the last 25 years. FCSI members like Bill Main work to raise the level of professional consulting when they share their expertise with Society members. Thank you Bill!
Foodable WebTV Network
Foodable WebTV Network led by Founder & CEO Paul Barron is setting records with 1.2 Million Video Views Per Month and a Direct Audience of 620,000. It’s difficult to list all the accomplishments and titles of Paul. CEO, Executive Producer, Author, Entrepreneur, Digital Visionary, Web Technology Expert and now Filmmaker. That’s right filmmaker. Paul just screened Fast Casual Nation – Changing The Way America Eats his first film at the NRA Show in Chicago, a documentary on the Fast Casual Restaurant Industry airing this summer on Netflix. Paul made his mark as the Founder of FastCasual.com and as Author and Restaurant Industry Trendspotter when he wrote The Chipotle Effect. We don’t know when the man sleeps. Check Paul out on Twitter @PaulBarron.
Social Media was in its infancy when Paul and DigitalCoCo created the Restaurant Social Media Index, a unique, proprietary, and revolutionary approach to how big data is relevant to context within industry verticals. Learn how the RSMIndex works here.
The real talent of CEO Paul is his ability to spot creative and technical talent in people and attract them to the Foodable Network Team. Paul has done a tremendous job in this area. We are fortunate to work with and brainstorm with the following professionals that Eric and I call the Foodable WebTV Network TEAM Digital Dynamos. The Foodable Network TEAM:
Jeffrey J. Kingman, Director of Business Development is an Executive Chef at heart that was reared in the west. Jeffery has been the driving force for RMR from day one. Thanks Jeffery for including Eric and me in your RMR Vision! We were lucky to connect with him through FCSI.
Nathan Mikita, Director of New Media is the digital recording Master that has the eye and technical skill to make any venue we record in work and make us look good and professional. Trade shows, conferences and Restaurants and some of the most difficult environments to record. It’s wonderful to work with Nathan.
Jason Morris, Director of Digital Products is the Foodable digital wizard. We come up with more ideas and questions for Jason about RMR than you would believe. Can WE do this? Can WE do that? We email files in all types of applications and programs, always at the last minute. Jason never complains – and makes it ALL work seamlessly. This is in addition to all his other responsibilities at DigitalCoCo, RSMIndex and Foodable TV projects.
Ana-Kay Neil, Producer is the talented professional that develops, schedules, and coordinates everything that is Rock My Restaurant. This is a massive job. Try coordinating RMR projects across the multiple time zones, with travel and doing it all with a smile. We appreciate her discipline and dedication to the RMR Show. Ana-Kay has made a positive and dynamic addition to RMR since she arrived.
Steve Zimmerman, Sound Engineer is charged with planning all the technical aspects for recording sound as well as supporting the digital recording aspects. The venues and locations we record in are extremely crowed and noise convention centers or restaurants and hotels. Steve is a pro that is dedicated and does a fantastic job making us sound super in every difficult environment that RMR records.
Jessica Bryant, Managing Editor & On Foodable Host, Jessica is behind the camera at her computer and in front of the camera. That being said the term to describe Jessica would be multi-talented. Jessica provides valuable ideas and editing that improves everything that RMR delivers.
Carlos Ruiz and Rameez Kahn, Video Editors have the difficult assignments of taking many minutes of digital recordings and sometimes hours of us (restaurant consultants) and transforming us into Hosts. I would not want their job. With our many flubs and numerous mistakes they both deserve awards for skill and patience. They are always behind the camera or at the computer making us look good. We appreciate the work and skill they add to produce Rock My Restaurant.
Kerri Adams – Digital Media Manager is responsible for all Social Media engagement for RMR. Super Smart with tremendous technical know-how Kerri is growing the RMR audience on all platforms and regions. The digital world is a 24/7 job and we love how fast Kerri and her team manages and distributes the RMR content and engages with the audience.
Thanks to Paul, Jeffrey and the complete Foodable WebTV Network Team. We love creating and working with you to help the Restaurant Industry achieve higher levels of success.
We hope you find #RMRPro Episodes Valuable. Remember to STOP, COLLABORATE & LISTEN. It just might help you reach a new level in your career. If you require assistance on a project please contact us via Twitter Social Media or email. We will respond to you as soon as possible. RockON!
